New green spaces on KIT Campus
The green spaces of the new Fraunhofer Institute

In November 2016 a new building of the Fraunhofer Institute (material sciences for energy systems MZE) was opened on the premises of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. The free spaces were designed by the office AgenceTER including KIT professor Henri Bava.

The south campus of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology is unique through the fact that it goes into the forest building the north of the city. The city emerged as planned city of the Classicismus, with a unique shape of radial alleys to the castle of the count of Baden Durlach.
The new Fraunhofer institute is in a row of new buildings close to the former stadion near Audimax (built in the first decade of the new millenium) and close to the forest. It opened in November 2016.
