This online colloquium brings international doctoral students together who are working on the subject of sustainable food planning. This second seminar is dedicated to the introduction and reflection of relevant research methods.

Invited speakers are:

Mary Brydon-Miller, PhD, from the University Cincinnati. Mary directs the University of Cincinnati’s Action Research Center and is Professor of Educational Studies and Urban Educational Leadership in the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services. She is a participatory action researcher who engages in both community-based and educational action research.

Esther Veen, PhD, Wageningen University: Ester is interested in the city and its chaos, but also in rural areas and the food productionthat often takes place there. Urban and rural areas come together in urban agriculture. As a sociologist I am most of all interested in finding out what moves people, how theymake their choices, and how they live together.

The speakers will give two inputs which will be followed by an interactive part during which doctoral students can reflect on the application of action research approaches in their own research.

You can join the online session on Monday, 30th of January 2017, at 15 pm CET via this participation link (please use the guest access).
