Cyprus Forum Student Competition – Winning Teams
Akamas- Between Science and Myth

The winning projects of the 2016 LE:NOTRE Institute Student Competition go to the University College Gent, the National School of Higher Studies in Nature and Landscape Architecture  Blois, France, the Harvard Graduate School of Design, USA, and to Sapiența Hungarian University of Transsylvania, Romania.

This LE:NOTRE Student Competition was part of the 5th Landscape Forum of the LE:NOTRE Institute. The forum was hosted by the Neapolis University in Paphos, Cyprus from16th - 20th of March 2016. The forum focussed on the north-western region of Cyprus including the peri-urban landscape of Paphos and the natural areas of the Akamas peninsula.

The LE:NOTRE International Student Competition aims to support integrated and holistic landscape approaches through multidisciplinary student teams elaborating planning and design proposals at various scales

This first prize was awarded toNiels de Courvreur, Tobias van der Elst, Joren Jodts and Maarten Dox from theUniversity College Gent for their ‘DNA 4 AKAMAS’ project.

Two second prices were issued. One to the team of Philippe Allignet from Blois and Sophia Geller fromthe Harvard Graduate School of Design. Another second prize went toPatka Zsuzsa-Kincső, Lorant Kovacs, Botond Szabo, Emöke Gereb and Julia Nagy fromSapiența Hungarian University of Transsylvania, Romania.

The third prize was issued for Guillaume Vanden Avenne, Thomas Dreesen, Gus van Hoeck, Robin Vangheluwe, also from theUniversity College Gent.
