Stirbey Palace in Buftea, in the park
The Știrbey palace in Buftea, around 20 km of Bucharest, is one of the princiary residences of the former ruling family of Walachia, one of the Romanian wojwodates. The Bucharest palace is situated on the main historical artery of the city and experienced a number of additions and demolitions of buildings along time, recently reconstructed by Idei urbane. The palace in the outskirts of Bucharest is in a different situation: it is situated in the middle of a large urban forest park, on the shores of one of the lakes of the Colentina river.
The architecture and interior of both was subject of a recent publication by Oana Marinache, with a future book coming this year.
