Events in the Central Park at the European Capital of Youth
Eurodoc conference 2015
The 2015 eurodoc conference has been hold in the vicinity and in Central Park in Cluj Napoca, in accordance with the quality of the host city being this year European Capital of Youth. The park has been recently renovated from EU funds together with the pavillions in the park, including the former Casino, where the eurodoc AGM has been held.

Cluj-Napoca is in 2015 European Capital of Youth. As such, it hosted the eurodoc (European Council of Doctoral Candidates and Junior Researchers) conference and AGM. The conference took place at Grand Hotel Napoca, in the vicinity of the Central Park, while the AGM took place in the former Casino, one of the pavillions in the park. The park and the Casino have been recently restaurated from European funds. The park features also other pavillions, such as the painting pavillion of the University of Arts and Design designed by Karoly Kós, one of the important architects of Transsylvania, and at the park entrance the former summer theatre has been transformed by Géza Markus and Frigyes Spiegel into the Hungarian State Theatre. The park is also located in the vicinity of the Somes river crossing the city and of the new Cluj arena, the stadion. Grand hotel Napoca provided beautiful views over this cityscape.
