This e-lecture will provide an overview of the major scientific methodologies that have been developed in France for the previous decades. The e-lecture will elaborate on different contexts of landscape consideration by local actors and the evolution of these contexts in connection with French public policies.
Sylvie Paradis is currently working as a Teaching and Scientific Assistant at the Department of Geography of the University of Geneva (Switzerland), in an international research programme on the Didactics of Landscape. She is an Architect and Urban Planner, with a PhD in Geography on Landscape Issues (University of Toulouse 2, France). She studied in Quebec (Canada) where she was born and in France where she lives. She has been teaching at different universities, worked in consulting firms and participated in research projects on territorial development and landscape assessment, mainly in multidisciplinary teams and with a strong participative dimension.
